The differences between gel battery and lead-acid battery are different service life, different internal components, different specification types, different battery safety, different nature and characteristics, different battery use environment, different protection mechanisms, different positive electrode structure plate.
Different service life:
Gel battery life is generally about twice as long as conventional lead-acid batteries, high temperature and low temperature characteristics are much better. Lead-acid batteries use a corrosion-resistant structure of lead-calcium alloy rails, the battery can be float-charged to use 10-15 years.
Different internal components:
Lead-acid batteries are mainly composed of tubular positive plates, negative plates, electrolyte, partitions, battery tanks, battery cover, poles, liquid-filled cover and so on. Colloid battery internal mainly SiO2 porous mesh structure, the existence of a large number of tiny gaps, can make the battery positive electrode generated by the smooth migration of oxygen to the negative electrode plate, to facilitate the absorption of the negative electrode synthesis.
Battery safety is different:
Lead-acid batteries have the phenomenon of creeping acid, improper management will be an explosion, colloidal batteries do not have the phenomenon of creeping acid, there will be no explosion.
Different nature characteristics:
Colloidal batteries with smaller industrial costs, to create a better quality battery, its discharge curve is flat, high inflection point, its energy and power than conventional lead-acid batteries more than 20%.
Lead-acid batteries are characterised by the fact that the electrolyte does not leak out of the battery terminals or casing during normal operation. Special suction dividers keep the acid inside and there is no free acid inside the battery, so the battery can be placed in any position. There is no need to add water while using the battery due to the unique gas compounding system that converts the gas produced into water.
Batteries are used in different environments:
Lead-acid battery working temperature generally can not exceed minus 3 ℃; gel battery can work at minus 30 ℃.
Different protection mechanisms:
Gel batteries have internal deep discharge protection mechanism, deep discharge of the battery can still be connected to the load. Charging within four weeks will not impair the performance of the battery. After charging, the nominal capacity of the battery will be restored soon, and the life of the battery will not be affected.
Lead-acid battery deep discharge must be permanent damage to the battery, a discharge, such as can not be charged within a short period of time to restore, the battery is immediately scrapped. That is, the full length of the battery after charging can be restored to part of the capacity of the battery, the battery’s life and reliability will be greatly reduced.
Positive structure plate is different:
Colloidal battery positive plate for high-quality non-cake alloy, self-discharge rate is extremely low, the battery at 20 ℃ room temperature, the daily self-discharge rate of less than 0.05%, after two years of storage still maintain 50% of the original capacity.
Lead-acid battery general lead-calcium alloy plate, self-discharge rate is high. In the same situation, storage for about 6 months must be updated charging. Storage time is longer, the battery will face the possibility of damage.
Storage of lead-acid batteries:
The battery must be fully charged before setting aside, and under the premise of full charge it is generally recommended that the battery must be replenished in 2 to 3 months, and it is best to charge it once every 1 to 2 months if possible.
